Rediscover Peace Through PTSD Counselling

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a real and often overwhelming response to a traumatic event. It's a normal human reaction to an abnormal experience. The effects of trauma can linger long after the event has passed, often feeling like an invisible weight that impacts every part of your life.

The good news is that you don't have to carry the weight of trauma alone. Counselling offers a safe and supportive space to process these experiences and find your way back to a sense of peace and control.

How PTSD Manifests

  • Intrusive Memories: You may be haunted by unwanted memories, flashbacks, or nightmares that make you feel like the event is happening all over again.

  • Avoidance: You might find yourself actively avoiding people, places, or conversations that remind you of the trauma, leading to social isolation and a sense of disconnection from the world.

  • Negative Thoughts and Feelings: The trauma can change the way you see yourself and the world. You may experience a loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed, feel emotionally numb, or carry a sense of hopelessness about the future.

  • Hyperarousal: Your nervous system may remain on high alert, leaving you feeling constantly on edge, easily startled, irritable, or struggling with sleep.

Finding Your Way Forward

Through evidence-based models like EMDR and CBT principles, we will work together to:

  • Process the Trauma: We'll gently and safely explore your traumatic memories and the difficult emotions that accompany them.

  • Regain Control: You'll learn to manage your symptoms, reduce hyperarousal, and find relief from the constant feeling of being on edge.

  • Rebuild Your Life: Our goal is to help you move beyond the past so you can reconnect with your inner strength and find a renewed sense of purpose, hope, and joy.

We may use one or more of these therapies in your treatment:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
